  • Bowen Hills Psychology provides assessment and treatment services for children and adults with a number of different emotional issues. Each therapist brings a specialised skill set, tailored to the individual needs of our clients. Taking a warm, genuine and empathic approach, our highest priority is the emotional safety of our clients. We endeavour to provide our clients with a safe space to understand the challenges they face and develop ways to overcome their difficulties.

    Dr Jessica Brands

    The Director of Bowen Hills Psychology, Jessica enjoys working with adolescents, adults and couples experiencing a range of difficulties. Jessica has a particular interest in treating single event and complex psychological trauma, including those involved in accidents or critical incidents, victims of violence and adult survivors of childhood physical, sexual or emotional abuse.

     

    Greta Nielsen

    Greta is an endorsed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with adults with complex mental health issues such depression, anxiety disorders, trauma related disorders and emotional regulation problems. 

     

    Alicia Paterson

    Alicia is a clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Alicia is a warm and empathic practitioner who is passionate about improving the social, emotional and psychological well being of her clients. She has range of interests which include providing diagnostic clarification through administering standardised assessment tools as well as implementing therapeutic intervention to adolescents and adults.

     

    Genevieve Steele

    Genevieve is a warm and conscientious practitioner who aims to foster a safe environment to assist clients to understand and overcome their challenges. Genevieve uses a strengths based approach, which aims to support clients to feel empowered, enabling improvements in their social and emotional wellbeing.

     

    Tanya Edwards

    Tanya strives to create a warm, caring and supportive environment in which people can safely explore their difficulties and move towards their goals for health. Tanya is proficient in the treatment of all mood and anxiety disorders. She is passionate about helping people to understand how to recognise and maintain healthy relationships. She has a particular interest in how trauma impacts the nervous system and is continuously extending her skills in the treatment of the same. 

     

    Michelle Carnell

    Michelle is a generally registered psychologist who sees children, adolescents and adults and has experience with both assessment and therapy.  She has a long-standing background in working with and educating adolescents. 

     

    Helen Holdsworth

    Helen’s passion lies in psychological diagnostic assessment, in order to assist clients to accurately identify areas of strength and difficulty, and make recommendations for support and intervention to help them improve their academic, social, occupational and psychological wellbeing.
