Claudia Kinnane

Claudia (she/her) is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who works with individuals across the lifespan, supporting them through a wide range of experiences. She has a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults who are neurodivergent, or who are seeking support with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD). She welcomes clients from any background, gender identity or sexual orientation. Claudia currently practices at Bowen Hills Psychology on Tuesdays & Fridays.

Claudia is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who works with individuals across the lifespan, supporting them through a wide range of experiences. Claudia is dedicated to creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where every client feels welcomed, understood, and respected for who they are. Her approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in trust, with a touch of humour where it helps.

She is especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating:

  • Neurodivergent experiences, including being autistic, an ADHDer, or AuDHD
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Body-focused repetitive behaviours (e.g., skin picking, hair pulling, lip biting)
  • Anxiety and phobias
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Stress, burnout, and life transitions
  • Self-esteem and identity development
  • Trauma recovery and post-traumatic growth
  • Emotional regulation and resilience
  • Interpersonal and relationship difficulties

Claudia draws on an integrative and person-centred approach, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs and preferences. She incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Claudia has worked across a broad range of settings including private practice, outpatient hospitals, and acute inpatient hospital stays.  She has completed a Master in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology), where she was awarded First Class Honours. She is a fully registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS).
