Madeline Karklis
Madeline is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who takes a collaborative, client-centred approach to therapy, actively using client feedback to inform treatment and support meaningful progress. She’s committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where people feel genuinely heard and respected. Madeline practises from a stance of cultural humility and is proud to be both a neuro-affirmative and LGBTQIA+ affirmative clinician, dedicated to inclusive care that values each person’s unique identity and lived experience.
Madeline works with individuals and couples. Her areas of particular interest include:
- Perinatal and women’s mental health
- Relationship and communication challenges
- Autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other forms of neurodivergence
- Trauma
- Addiction
- Anxiety and mood concerns
- Stress, burnout, and life transitions
Madeline draws from a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology (graduating with Distinction) from the University of Southern Queensland and a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) with First Class Honours from the University of the Sunshine Coast. During her studies, Madeline received multiple Dean’s Commendations for High Achievement and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society, which recognises the top 15% of university students worldwide.
