  • Tanya strives to create a warm, caring and supportive environment in which people can safely explore their difficulties and move towards their goals for health. Tanya is proficient in the treatment of all mood and anxiety disorders. She is passionate about helping people to understand how to recognise and maintain healthy relationships. She has a particular interest in how trauma impacts the nervous system and is continuously extending her skills in the treatment of the same.

    Tanya completed her Bachelor of Science and Master of Educational Psychology at the University of Queensland. She completed her qualification in Clinical Psychology through The University of the Sunshine Coast and James Cook University. Tanya is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), has membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is a Medicare provider. Tanya is also a Board-approved Supervisor.

    Graduating at the beginning of 1999, Tanya brings a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience to her practice of therapy.  Early in her career, Tanya’s focus was on developmental and educational psychology. However, she soon became interested in Clinical Psychology, gaining her endorsement in 2009.  She has worked in private practice since 2006. Her treatment framework is predominately a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, utilising principles from Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment Theory, in a Trauma Informed Framework.
