  • Diagnostic Assessment

  • We provide a diagnostic assessment and reports for a number of different cognitive and clinical conditions, using evidence-based psychological tests.

    We can provide assessment for:

    • Learning Disorders (e.g. Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia)
    • Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
    • Autism (ASD)
    • Intellectual Impairment
    • Adaptive Functioning
    • Clinical Disorders
    • Personality Assessment
    • Capacity and fitness for work
    • Disability
    • Risk Assessment
    • Giftedness

  • The assessment process begins with an initial intake assessment, were you meet with your psychologist for the first time to discuss your needs and presenting concerns. This intake assessment involves gathering background information and deciding on the most suitable assessment for your needs. During this session your psychologist will be able to provide you with an overview of what assessments will be conducted, the timeframes and associated cost. This session also gives you a chance to get to know your psychologist's particular way of working, to see if it will meet your needs.

Following the intake assessment, testing is completed over several sessions, ranging from 2-4 hours per session. We can schedule this to be immediately following your intake assessment, or on a separate day. We recommend that children and adolescents sit the assessments over multiple sessions to avoid fatigue and ensure their best performance. We can also conduct school observations (for an additional fee) if this is necessary. After the testing is completed, your psychologist will spend time scoring and writing a comprehensive report. A feedback session will then be arranged where the psychologist will explain the results of the assessment to you and provide you with recommendations for intervention strategies that may help you to achieve your educational, occupational, health or mental health goals. We can provide reports to help clients access support under programs such as the NDIS or for school verification purposes.

The base fee for most assessments is $1600-$1900. This covers the minimum amount of testing in a standard assessment process. You may need additional assessments beyond this base, for which you will be charged by the hourly rate of $160 per hour. Generally you would not expect assessments to be in excess of $2600.

Autsim assessments attracts a minimum fee of $2500 and includes use of the ADOS-2, considered the gold standard for the diagnosis of Autism.

We have a comprehensive test library with the major psychological and neuropsychological tests, including but not limited to the ADOS, WISC, WAIS, WPPSI, WIAT, UNIT, WMS, NEPSY, PAI, ABAS, Vinelands, TSI, BRIEF, DKEFS, and OMNI.
